Huntsville-based Microphase Clinical Laboratory is pleased to announce the launch of their new Allergy Testing system provided by Minaris Medical America, a global leader of multiplex in vitro allergy diagnostics for over 30 years. The new system that Microphase is now offering is Minaris Medical’s OPTIGEN® Allergen-Specific IgE Assay, which provides a comprehensive panel test for over 60 known environmental and food allergens. This new system is more convenient for doctors and their patients as it is performed via in vitro testing (bloodwork), which in turn eliminates the need for traditional “prick” tests and also alleviates delays due to patients’ having to discontinue their allergy or other medications. Microphase is the first clinical lab in the Tennessee Valley area to implement this system.
According to WebMd (https://www.webmd.com/allergies/allergy-statistics), “more than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies each year, and allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S., with an annual cost in excess of $18 billion.” Microphase is implementing this new system because it will offer their medical provider clients and their patients more informed clinical decisions and more rapid and efficient results, which ensures more patient satisfaction. Microphase Clinical Laboratory is a CLIA-certified independent laboratory offering COVID-19 testing and other clinical laboratory services since 1996, based in Huntsville, Alabama. We offer a variety of medical lab testing, including COVID-19 PCR tests, by appointment. We also offer documentation of the results for travel and recreational purposes.
