Huntsville Lab Launches New Rapid Respiratory Test System: “This Changes Everything!”

​Huntsville-based Microphase Clinical Laboratory is pleased to announce the addition of a new PCR diagnostic respiratory panel testing system created by global biotechnology leader Biomerieux that is now available as part of their in-house rapid lab tests. This in-house, diagnostic solution provides 1 PCR Test that targets 15 viruses and bacteria, including Covid-19, providing accurate results within 30 minutes. Microphase is the first clinical lab in the North Alabama area to implement this system. The benefits of this new testing solution include more informed clinical decisions, added with more rapid and efficient results, which ensures more patient satisfaction.
 
Microphase Co-Founder Beth Woody shared why they are implementing this new testing system, “We see many patients with legitimate symptoms who test negative for Covid-19, Flu A/B, RSV even with a PCR test. Before now, we could not give them any answer or result to help them know what they have. The new PCR panel we have now detects up to 15 of the most common respiratory infections (viral and bacterial) that can all display the same symptoms. Moreover, it can deliver these results within 30 minutes. This can give us the tools and answers for the clinician/patient to immediately give them a plan of action on how to proceed with life activities."
